3 Words About UNB:
Supportive, Inspiring, and Friendship!
EVEN MORE:
Sarah is a ray of sunshine who brings positive energy everywhere she goes. This enthusiasm is matched in the pool and classroom alike, and she works hard as a Peer Mentor in the Faculty of Science, a Co-President of the Math Society, and a Blackshirt with the UNBSU Orientation Week Executive. In addition, Sarah had been part of the executive on campus conferences including Girls STEM Up and Women in Sport and she is part of the Philips Sport Leadership Academy program with the REDS. If that wasn't already enough, Sarah is a Math Tutor, and volunteers with UNB Best Buddies and OPAL Family Services. Sarah remembers the entire weekend of her first AUD fondly, and says it was the moment when she really felt the team become a family through cheering each other on and watching teammates reach really big goals. Sarah’s favourite pump up songs for swim meets are all classics, including Rain on Me, Stronger, and All Star. She loves a good ice bath and is the world's biggest fan of sunrises and sunsets. Sarah could eat ice cream for the rest of her life and her favourite TV shows to watch while eating it include Glee and Gilmore Girls. One day, Sarah hopes to be a special education teacher or teach high school calculus, and even travel to Iceland!
What makes
UNB SPECIAl?
I grew up in Fredericton and always knew that I wanted to study and swim at UNB once I finished high school. Everyone on the team here quickly became some of my best friends, not to mention one of the closest-knit families I've ever been part of. On and off pool deck, everyone is always supporting one another, cheering each other on, and making every moment a great one, and this is what has truly set these last few years apart from anything else that I've ever experienced before. This along with getting to be coached by the best is just the beginning of why I love being able to call UNB home <3
