EVEN MORE:

Susana has reached her 12th year of competitive swimming, and is an enthusiastic, hardworking, dedicated member of the UNB swim team. She is from Dartmouth Nova Scotia, and previously swam for the Dartmouth Crusaders Swim Club.

One of her favourite memories was the team cheer at the team’s final competition of the year, describing the energy as electric! She specializes in Backstroke, sprint, and Mid-Distance races. To get ready for a race you might find Susana listening to Fergalicious, but her favourite part of a competition is supporting her teammates and friends, watching them succeed.

She is going into her second year of Kinesiology at UNB, and likes to spend her free time volunteering to help others. She will be volunteering for the UNB International Swim Program, as well coaching for both Fredericton Aquanauts Swim Team (FAST) and the UNB high performance gym (HPC).

She enjoys spending her free time cooking, spending time with friends, or enjoying a good tv show (such as Brooklyn 99). If she could just have one food for the rest of her life it would be pasta. With the chance she would travel across the world to Australia, Argentina, Europe, and Bali. When on her travels she just might check off some of her bucket list items such as skydiving, hiking a big mountain or trying a triathlon.

Susana is always there to support everyone on the UNB swim team, and carries her positive attitude wherever she goes!

What makes
UNB SPECIAl?

I really feel like I have joined a huge, supportive, positive, competitive, and compassionate family. I am surrounded by amazing teammates who encourage me to better myself both in and out of the pool, and lend a hand whenever possible. These are the kindest and funniest people, and I am so grateful to share so many beautiful moments with them amidst the difficult circumstances of covid-19.
